Responsive web design (based on Bootstrap) and front-end development for BIRN (Balkan Investigative Reporting Network) Albania for the interactive Criminal Assets Database (“Databaza e Aseteve Kriminale“).
The Criminal Assets Database is a database of prosecutorial and court documents for the seizure, confiscation or release of illicit assets in Albania. It contains data from more than 435 criminal cases, from 22 court districts and 34 judicial institutions in Albania, dating from 2010 to 2022.
“Databaza e Aseteve Kriminale” consists of two separate web applications – one for data input and management, and one for data interpretation and visualization. Both applications share a clean, contemporary, unified design – based on best practices in User Interface Design, User Experience Design and Visual Design in general.
The design is minimalist, strong on iconography, colors and contrast.
Layout and visual theme is based on Bootstrap. The icon library used is Bootstrap Icons. Visualizations are implemented with Highcharts.
